Oh most definately I don’t know if I didn’t touch on that but yes I found the website with the current fee schedule. $220/ 50 minutes which includes 10 minutes of charting. I remember when it was $195/50 minutes plus charting. Also you’re absolutely correct it’s not the psychologists fault. I didn’t want to come off as angry with Janet. She and one other psychologist I forget the name are thee experts to go to for ERP CBT. Ive known about them for 15-20 years and been to there centre but could only afford a registered provisional psychologist which you can access for a resumed fee. I still to this day have all the notes, duconents, and suggestions of this person and keep it as a reference for myself! 😊 I mean it was worth the money spent for sure. It's just not meant to be a one off either and that's the unaffordable part unless you maybe work and have amazing insurance like sun life.

I guess the reason why I asked Janet specifically was because as a provider was there any advocacy she did for patients to find out why the government isn’t covering it? Or does she simply have an understanding of why the government of Alberta chooses not to cover it? It's not her fault t

that the cost is high plus the amount of education required is a lot and these individuals are worth the fees on the fee guide. I don't expect her or anyone else in this system to give free services. However we all have to use critical thinking skills and understand the effect of a lack of cbt availablity had on the average individual. The average individual can't afford expensive cbt and usually ends up on an SSRI antidepressant or something similar. One day I would like to start an advovacy website that would expose the shortcomings and dysfunction of AHS. In reality people are dying from a lack of services, lack of support, not being taken seriously, and medical negligence. It happens every day and I think talking about it in a manor that involves a resolution focused discussion and certain goals with the general public involved would be very healthy! We could even start a perition or several of them!!!

I want to let everyone know I was in "worse than normal" severe pain that day and was a little more direct but I still tried hard not to be disrespectful. I just think it’s interesting how the college of physicians and surgeons of Alberta encourages physicians to deprescribe medications from people yet they still don't push for or even address lack of psychotherapeutic interventions and treatments for these individuals. A lot of individuals end up on medication who may necessarily need them as they don't have accesss to one if the gold standards of cafe is: CBT therapy.

Anyways thanks for listening!!! I hope everyone has a lovely week!!!
